Several months ago I picked up a ShowCast Toy Wonders diecast 1/24th VW Doka from a hobby shop in Dallas. Never heard of that brand before, but it's really detailed for $24.99.  I went there looking for Hasegawa's VW Pickup and they had sold it a couple weeks before. Anyway, I got this one on impulse, and left it in the box until inspiration hit. Well, in yesterday's What Did You See On The Road Today, Hamata1972 posted a pic of a cool weathered VW single cab shop truck and I knew what I had to do. I used a set of Fuchs wheels with the Pirelli tires from a Monogram curbside Porsche and lowered the whole truck about an eighth of an inch. This is my first attempt at weathering, I sprayed Duplicolor Red sandable primer and then lightly sanded it It probably needs a little surface rust, so I may tackle that too.

This is the result, my shop truck to be. Now I have something to carry my Porsche engines in!
