Slim Louis Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Thought you might be interested in the Dart I built a while back. I tried to build a "period correct" short track car, based on the Chrysler kit car, but home made by using the kit chassis. These early chassis used the torsion bar front suspension and a leaf spring rear. I "welded 2x4 side rails to the uni-body chassis to give it a frame and strength, copied the "kit car " chassis, for reference, and used the the bubble fendered front clip from the kit car. Here's some pictures:
dwc43 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Not bad at all. Don't know if you saw this post yet, but take a look at it. I posted a lot of kit car pics of the real thing for Dave if you want to take a look. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18882

dwc43 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Good looking dart there Slim.. Nice job on the wheel arches and paint.. Nice ref pics dwc43 Thanks. I have a good collection of circle, drag, and street cars. Have a decent tech folder set up with engine and chassis pics of certain things. Mostly Mopar though since I used them on a Mopar board to help people fix there real cars with. I'll be glad to help anyone out with a ref pic if I have it or know where to get it.
