Count my in too.

It looks like right now the only way to get these parts are on ebay when he posts them, his seller name is, pettybluecamaro2.

I've been doing some more test fitting and so far everything is looking good!!

So does this SoReal wheels & tires have a web site or does anyone know where I can find some? I'll post some more photos when I can.

I believe pettybluecamaro2 is the same guy that used to run Lookout Resin. I got the '79 Dodge truck parts from him a few years ago, I want to build a replica of the '79 my Dad had that I learned to drive in...I have the 4x4 suspension parts, some parts box MPC wheels and tires, a resin Fleetside shortbed, and the LRE to start from.. Not familiar with SoReal.

Hey Rob do you know where you got the resin Fleetside shortbed from?

Thanks, Marty

I have no idea who cast it...I picked it up secondhand on ebay a couple years ago along with a Dodge Club Cab pickup body that I plan to use for another project.

Can you post of photo of it?

It's in storage in Colorado w/ most of my model collection.. I can't remember if it has the raised molding like the kit longbeds did.. it's basically a shortened version of the kit longbed box...includes taillights and tailgate, IIRC.

Hey Guys

I am the guy that made those resin pieces that Tuffone20 got. First. Glad you like the parts, Tuffone20. Looking forward to seeing the finished model. I am sure it will be nice, judging by your other builds.

I got the parts to do this 1979 Dodge truck conversion from an unbuilt MPC 1979 Dodge Pick Up Kit. The parts all came from the same kit so they DO Go Together. I have been selling this kit for 5 or 6 years. Have sold a TON of them. I have never once heard that they are wrong in any way. This is the first time. So I feel 100% that these are correct. It seems like all but one of you agree. So with that said. If you are interested. Yes I really only sell on e-bay, but if you want to get in contact with me. My info is in my Profile on this board. I will not do any selling or posting selling info on this board out of respect for this board and it's members.

Raoul Coumbie of Phx Az built these two model. The 79 using my kit. Raoul is someone that I fell has some very good know abouts on these truck and he never said anything about the 79 conversion being wrong.

Raoul sorry if a shattered your name. I think I did.

Thanks

Don't know if anyone has done this before or not, but when I was laying all of my parts out for this build I got to looking at the spare tire and thought it just didn't look right? So I started cutting it up and came up with this.

Which looks way better then how it came in the kit. I'm not going to be using on this build because this one is going to be 4 wheel drive and I'm going to be making a spare tire holder that will go inside the bed of the truck and thought I just pass this on just in case no one has thought of doing this.

I forget his name, but the caster of the shortbed passed away a few years ago. I made one, it's not too hard

Ok then let me know when you need my address to send it to :DB)

Ok I just won these on ebay, couldn't pass up the price of $9.99 with free shipping, just hope they are not going to be too hard to mount.

Got my wheels in the mail today!! Pretty fast shipping and it was free!!! Anyways here is a photo of one So Real wheel & tire next to the stock LRE wheel & tire, I think I'm going to need a lift kit  I haven't starting building the chassis yet so I don't know for sure if these are going to work or not.

Well,, I guess we'll just agree to disagree then. I'm old enough to remember when those trucks were new. the brochures are not wrong.

:P

I remember those also...the '80 had the black out on the grille, and was the first year they used the Ram name, IIRC. My Dad had a '79 Power Wagon 4x4 w/ the quad lights from '82 till '94...I learned to drive in that truck..was quite a turd, not much power, no steering feel or centering, would often stall on left turns.

I would assume the quad light vs. single lights was a trim level thing, my Dad's '79 was a Power Wagon w/ the Adventurer and Prospector packages.

I'm with you guys, I remember the Dodge trucks being the same as well..... My Neighbor when I was younger bought a Brand New 1980 Dodge Pickup, and it was a Quad-Headlight.... Yes I am very sure that it was an actual 1980, as it was ordered new from Dodge in Febuary 1980, and he recieved it in March or April 1980.... Dodge was just the GM and Ford when it came to their trucks, and they always offered their Previous Design for their Work/Base Model Trucks, and they still continue it to this day(Just like GM and Ford)..... Now when it came to their Military Trucks, they extended their Previous Designs, well into their new designs.... Mainly that was due to the Government Request for said continuation of the design(just like they did with their GM Contracts)....
