FujimiLover Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) Hello. I was refered to HW-Japan's website for model kit shopping. I want to know, how reliable are they? I've noticed several kit's with 1 unit in stock listed back in '07. I've also noticed alot of pre-orders for '09 as well. So the question is, if they list it as being in stock, do they really have it in stock? How up to date are these guy's? I've shopped the internet ton's of times for RC car products and I know of very reliable sorces, but never shopped for plastic model kit's on line, with the exception of the three kit's on ebay. Are there other on-line stores that have a large selection of Fujimi and Aoshima kit's? You all know my style by now, I'm also interested in several of Aoshima's VIP, tuner, racing style van's such as Honda Odyessey's and similar type's. I'm also very aware of Hobby Link Japan but they seem to be out of stock on ALOT of stuff these day's. Edited March 24, 2009 by FujimiLover
chris coller Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Here's 2 to try www.stradasports.com or www.hiroboy.com. Hiro boy is located in Europe some where's. Shipping to PA was about $16 for what I ordered. Got some paint and two part clear photo etch and some other detail products. Turn around time from across the lake was about a week and a half at most. Great place to deal with. Hope that helps!
Rob Hall Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) I've bought from HLJ since 2000 or so, never had a problem...I usually preorder the hot releases from them (the new GT-Rs, Fujimi Ferraris, etc when I first hear of them)... I would assume many of items they have listed as out of stock are older, out of production kits. Also, the big 3 (Aoshima, Fujimi, Tamiya) don't seem to have released that many new kits over the last year, compared to the previous few years. I've also bought Japanese kits from Hobby Search (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/car) and Model Express (www.modelexpress.net) with no problems. I've only heard of HW-Japan recently, apparently, they are owned by Aoshima. Edited March 24, 2009 by Rob Hall
FujimiLover Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) Thank you guy's, I am interested in the older kit's like 80's and 90's. So yea, HLJ probably wont' work for me unless I want something new. Fortunetly, I've got three kit's coming to me so I'm set for a while. Well, four if you count repainting my blue Insight. Any more on-line shops? I was just having a look at Strada and they dont' seem to have many pictures of their products. I like places that have pics of product so I know exactly what I'm buying. They also dont' have alot of Fujimi stuff either, but some nice Aoshima models I wouldn't mind getting. One Aoshima kit I like is their yellow AOS-30424 1/24 Honda Prelude Si-VTEC Sports Car w/Gold Rims tuned by Jun Auto Mechanics. Edited March 24, 2009 by FujimiLover

I noticed that Aoshima has a Veilisde Mazda RX7 FD3S which INCLUDES the beautiful five-star wheels that my Fujimi's 300ZX SHOULD have came with! Edited March 24, 2009 by FujimiLover
FujimiLover Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 WOW! I really like Hobby Search website! They have a lot of cool stuff there. Including some stuff for us more mature model-builders. Thank you for refering me to theme! I just wonder if some of their DVD-Rom's can be played on our DVD Players and/or DVD computers?
