FujimiLover Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Hello. What's the best display case system you've seen available? Ones I really love are the ones that Sharper Image housed their 1/18 scale die-cast collection back when. Need something that can hang on a wall that can house multiple 1/24 scale models and keep dust off of theme. Anybody know of any? I know Scale Motor Sports has a nice display shelfe that has an angle to it, but it's just for one car, and it doesn't cover the car either. Also need some way to prevent the tires from cracking in our dry climate.

FujimiLover Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 I dont' have the measurements yet, but this is the space where I plan on putting the shelves. I've got these ones for now, but they dont' hold much unless stackable, and they dont' protect. Plus, my cat likes to walk across theme. She think's it's a CAT-WALK! LOL! Would like something that can hold anywhere between 50-100 1/24 scale cars, if lighted that would be even cooler! Would like to turn off all the lights at night except for the display case's light.
B_rad88 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 so that explains the "unicorn"! lol i don't blame you, my cat thinks there her toys and she well play with them.
FujimiLover Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Thank's, not only the dust issue, but in hopes to keeping the tires nice. I'm not sure if it's the dry climate, or the dust particles that eat the rubber and begins to crack'em. I guess you could say their dry-rotted? So yea, I am looking for a dust-proof display case. I didnt' think about the heat from the lights, so that might NOT be a good idea. As for stand alone versus wall mount, I'd prefer wall mount for saving space and to have the models more at eye level. This summer I'm moving from my old room to the larger guest room which now has an extra window which will be cooler in the summer time. We'll see what I need by then and how much room I've got. I already have a descent stand-alone shelfe, but it's made for DVD collection and has no dust-covers. I've displayed several of my die-cast 1/43's on their and my Transformers collection, they do get dusty.
