Bernard Kron Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) Gorgeous red Ferrari 275 GTB4 built by Curt Raitz (More pictures below) I just wanted to share this beautiful build with everyone. At the NNL West at the beginning of March, as I was wandering from table to table, I kept coming back to this model. There was something about the color, the lovely lines, and the meticulous build that attracted me. It was built by Curt Raitz. I mentioned to Raul Perez, at whose home I was staying over the weekend, how much I liked it. Raul warned me that Curt was notorious for sending people a model if they mentioned to him that they liked it. I told Raul I thought I was safe because I hadn’t had a chance to say anything to Curt. Turns out I was wrong… This came in the mail yesterday! Huge thanx to Curt for his generosity (and I guess to Raul for snitching on me), and pride of place on my model shelf. Enjoy! Hey, I thought that I told Curt that I liked it... Actually, I painted the body many years ago, put it back in the box because I had burned out on building red Ferraris, (yes, that is possible), and gave it to Curt about 9 months ago to finish. GREAT job, my old friend!! And, congrats to Bernard for being the recipient of one of Curt's models. Later,
fordh8r Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Beautiful little ride! The color looks to be right on too. Lucky guy to have such a nice shelf unit. Nice job on the build Curt and good job on the paint Raul.
janositamas Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Very nice and super clean job, congrats on both of you Guys who built it!
Raul_Perez Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Very nice and super clean job, congrats on both of you Guys who built it! I just blasted it with a crappy old can of Testors enamel , (long before their really nice lacquer paints were available). Curt did all of the real work; polished the paint, painted all the other parts, detailed the engine and put it all together. The other thing that Curt did really well, (that I really suck at), was packaging it well enough to make the journey by mail without getting damaged along the way!! Some day we'll have to talk him into posting his secret recipe for packaging that's almost 100% effective in preventing shipping damage.
Helipilot16 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) I have one of these and one of the NART Spider versions to build some day. I have already completed one of the spider models, but it didn't turn out very well. I will do better on the next one. Edited March 27, 2009 by Helipilot16
