Bren Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 And a well deserved award it is too! Terrific build. I know I’m late to the party commenting - but I think I speak for others when I say ‘don’t spare us the details!’ I’m fascinated to know what you did and how you did it. That’s how we all get better here. Where did you source some of the after market parts - and what were they? Did you have any headaches to overcome? What were your fixes? I notice very nice chrome trim detailing - just a steady hand - or did you use a particular technique? Thanks! 1
Blue Monday Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 That is a fabulous model. Can I ask what kit you used for the tractor? I am interested in doing a potential Bandit Kenworth in the future and would love to learn about the best route to building a 73 W900. Thanks. BM. 1

Most were from my buddies up in Canada, one being Kootenay 3d Model truck parts. He makes a lot of my parts. Tons of headaches ofcourse, especially when building a trailer. Long story short I'd say the toughest parts were the mural, painting everything, and wiring up all the lights while still having no wires exposed! And with the chrome trim, just patience and going slow. I use a chrome pen and take my time, no special techniques!

I used an Italeri Peterbilt 378 long hauler as the base kit. If you want to go movie correct, use the AMT Kenworth W925 for your replica! 1
Blue Monday Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Thank you for the reply. Great to know there is a kit of the truck out there. Applying the mural decal to a trailer looks daunting though! Is the AMT 40' Reefer trailer the best option for a Bandit trailer? It appears to be to me but just want to be sure. Thanks. BM.

The first mural I used was a 2 piece vinyl sticker and it was horrible. Upgraded to a 5 piece decal mural and it was well worth it! Yes, the AMT 40' reefer is your best option too for the trailer too? 1

Here's how it looks now: Updated mural and a top 10 award Not suprized to see the award behind this build! Outstanding is the word. A very appealing, clean build of a well known subject with a twist! Great job! 1
