Dingo Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Here are just a few from my truck collection. 1926 AC Mack Tipper with gravel load (gravel is HO scale roadbed). Autocar road train prime mover. Aussie outback rig. The Auto road train Oz style. Volvo F series with tri-axle trailer Dingo
dwc43 Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Love that old Mack. I found a copter on a site that does emergency equipment and bought it. It has a shaft drive to the rear rotor so it's a little newer model than the one I want to build. The one I want to build had a chain drive to the rear tail rotor. Is that chain on the Mack a cast part or did you make it? Either way, I'd like to make one. Do you have any clue how I might make a chain for the drive?
fordh8r Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Nice truck collction. Have you built a trailer combo for your road train tractor?
Old Albion Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I like the old AC Mack. You can see why the British Soldiers in the First World War nick named the Mack "Bulldog". It does have quite a resemblence. Nice looking truck. Best Wishes Dave
Dingo Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 Thanks guys for all ya comments. DWC the chain drive on the Mack is a kit part, Ford the purple painted prime mover with the 2 trailer is actually the same truck as the one above it I just repianted it Coz I didn't like the way I built the green rig so I re-did it. dwc43 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Thanks for letting me know. IF you ever need a reference pic of an old Mack like that, we have a restored firetruck like that Mack in our town. I need to go get a pic of it anways. Not sure what years it was used here though. They restored it years ago and built it's on display room on the side of the main fire hall where it once worked out of.
