E St. Kruiser50 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) Congratulations Dave....twice....once for that moment back in 1962 and a second one for the outpouring of congratulations (mine included) from those of us today who so respect what you accomplished.....best regards TIM BOYD Thanks Tim and everybody, This is one of those times that really belong to every one of us, not just me. Thanks again Don, from all of us, for finding this and sharing it with everyone. We've all spent years enjoying and supporting this hobby to make it what it is today. I hope that together, as friends, we can all continue keeping this hobby fresh, alive, friendly, and exciting as the years continue to go by. God bless - dave Edited March 31, 2009 by Treehugger Dave
E St. Kruiser50 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) THANK YOU DON Don was kind enough to pass this "KEEPER" on to me from his collection of magazines, and I received it today, and wanted to share it again with everyone. I had owned a copy of this issue years ago, when it first came out, but lost it in the move here to Oregon. Several people had requested seeing the pic's of the model I built in '62, and was voted as one of the top ten models. Mine is the one at the top of the first page. Thanks again Don for bringing this out of the "Archive's" from almost 50 year's ago - dave Edited May 5, 2009 by Treehugger Dave
84vanagon Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 GLAD it arrived so quick! I know you will enjoy it more than I have. Keep us posted on the re-creation! YOU'RE VERY WELCOME! Don.
Scott H. Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Dave, Sorry I missed this before now, but I too wish to offer my congratulations on both the model being selected for a cover shot during one of the most competitive eras of modeling and being reunited with the magazine it was in. Since recreating a cherished memory from the past would be difficult at best (the materials, your tools, etc. available to you now are completely different from back then), why not make a remake of the model but not an exact copy??? I personally would LOVE to see a Pink Leprechaun 2 come from your work bench! Don, I applaud your giving Dave the magazine so he can have a cherished memory once again! People like you are one of the reasons I stay active in the hobby and I thank you. -Scott H.
