David Thibodeau Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 What a freakin cool day! Alot of you guys have seen the pics but here is a link to them for others.. If you look at the presentation pics in one of them you can see where Don wiped his eye..... He choked up!!! That was an indication to me.... that I had done a good job. He personally shook my hand and gave me a big thumbs up. A day I will never forget........ DaveT http://public.fotki.com/Daveyracer/drag_mo...x/museum-visit/
84vanagon Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Great pictures. Thanks for showing them. Is that you in the Reynolds & Reynolds shirt?
fordsixty Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 excellent job, David. you are a class act. shame on you for making Big Daddy cry.
Custom Hearse Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I went to the museum way back when. I still have the "Pit Pass" ticket with the date July 25 2004 stamped on it. Great place to visit. I spent a lot of cash there! Great pics there Dave. Loved seeing the place again.
Bernard Kron Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Awesome give and take. Garlits is such a vital, intelligent man. What a thrill it must have been to have him respond to your creativity and then share his passion for a little while with you all. Those pictures in his shop with him descrbing things are just too cool!
Dragline Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Awesome David!!!! Big Daddy is truly a softy it seems. I for one will use these pix for my builds and they are greatly appreciated. The kit came out great BTW. I haven't had opportunity to say so, so I'll do that now. Gotta make my way down to Ocala again some day. No Swamp Rat 1R??? Wonder where it is??? Bob Frias Dragline
David Thibodeau Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 Great pictures. Thanks for showing them. Is that you in the Reynolds & Reynolds shirt? Nope, That is my boss..... this is my ugly mug Thanks guys... like I said a day I will never forget.... DaveT
84vanagon Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Hi Dave. Just curious. I wish we still had Reynolds & Reynolds at work! Unfortunately the dealership I work at went to a different system about three years ago. It was like going from a Lincoln to a tote-the-note lot Contour. The language in the parts department has gotten real "colorful"!
1320wayne Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Awesome job, David. Anytime you can go on a tour of the shop led by the man himself that's saying something. The build came out great and I'm sure that you sincerely touched him with your skills.
