dawgvet Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Hello, I am looking for detailing tips for the JR Salvino’s Next Gen NASCAR kits. I have been building on and off for several years and am familiar with the older style cars. I would like to know what details you guys like to add and how to add them. I like detailing engines some but I know the engine is hard to see in this kit. I have still added plug wires and boots. I am also likely plumbing oil lines in the engine. How do you guys add oil lines to the chassis? What other chassis details do you like to add? For the interior, I’ve seen one guy recently made a switch box and I like that idea. Does anyone have a template for the dash cover to make from sheet styrene? What other interior details do you all add? Any other general Next Gen tips appreciated too! Thanks Again
bobss396 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I think that Randy Ayer's NASCAR modeling forum is still around. I used to go there some years back. Those guys would be best to ask.
Jim N Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Mark J did an outstanding job building one of these kits. Within his build is a computer generated video on how the systems on these cars work. Here is the link.
MarkJ Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Jim, I forgot all about that wip. Seems like a million years ago. Shows me that I need to clean up my workspace for my current build. It's getting way out of hand. The longer I spend on a build the messier it gets.
catpack68 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 (edited) Here’s a link to a Next Gen chassis Clay Kemp built on his YouTube Channel Edited May 23, 2024 by catpack68

Mark, if your workspace isn't messy, you aren't doing anything. At least that is what I convince myself.
