Furiousgeorge Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 (edited) Hello! I’ve been an avid car modeller most of my life, but I’ve recently made the switch over to ships. I’m working my way through a 1/350 Lusitania, and I’d like to have an accompanying u boat with it. The u boat that sunk her is SM U20, a type U-19 u boat (say Wikipedia). After googling around, I’ve realized that not only do I know nothing about u boats, but that there are so many different kinds. Im not after perfection, just good enough. What kit comes close enough to the design of U20 (if there is one)? Ive also got The Graf Spee and Bismarck to build, and will get the Exeter and Hood to go along with them. Space will be an issue before too long…. Edited May 24, 2024 by Furiousgeorge Title mistake 1

XYHARRY Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 (edited) Hi Trent, I'm sending you some pics from my books titled 'JANE'S FIGHTING SHIPS OF WWI' and 'JANE'S FIGHTING SHIPS OF WWII '. These two comprehensive reference books cover all the active navies from the WW1 and WWII era. I hope this helps you with your research. P.S. your local library may have these books as they were used extensively for naval research. Cheers, David.?? These are what redneckrigger was referring to. Furiousgeorge Posted July 28, 2024 Author Posted July 28, 2024 XYHarry, thanks! I’ll see if I can track those books down. I live in a small town, so I doubt out little library will have them.
