LAone Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 (edited) It's been a while since I've posted anything on here. haven't had access to a desktop in ages and well, posting on a tablet was a pain in the rear. Ive been on IG for the most part, sometimes on FB. I do miss the forums tho. I'll have some finished builds to show for in the "under glass" section soon as I'm slowly getting back in this. Well onto the progress on my latest victim of my madness. The kit is from Aoshima. Although the box art shows the early 73-75(early ver.) LB, it has the smooth front bumper with the turn signals on the valance, the hood has the raised vents and not shown tail light design is different as well. the kit itself is 75-77(late ver.). Details like the front bumper with turn signals on them and the flat hood vents are different which came the late version. it's a simple curbside with the motorized style chassis. details are nice but do take some patience to get right. Wheels are also from Aoshima, they are Work Equip 03's or Excel as they have been boxed under. they are deep in the front and even deeper in the rears and have the stretched out tires I've gone with a custom build. I've chopped off the solid rear axle and have bashed in an independent rear. I cut up the cradle and diff from an R32 Skyline kit. it's a bit on the wide side, so it had to be adjusted a bit. a cut here and there and I've made something that resembles something that you'd find on a 1:1. made some axles from styrene rod and tubing. will be using the brakes that came with it as well. for the front, it had to be cut up a bit as well to make ground clearance. I cut the control arms at an angle, reglued them on. it gave me the clearance I needed and some camber. front rotors are from the parts bin and have been adjusted to fit the wheels and hub. body mods are all going to be made from styrene and a bit of filler. so far I've started on the front air dam. next will be the inverted hatch back and wing. Thanks for looking and reading along. more pics of this and others are on my IG page. Edited May 29, 2024 by LAone 1
