This is my WIP of the Skyline that I had put in the "in glass" section already. I had to reload them up onto my phone again and then onto my current photobucket, so it took me a bit to do.

this will be the first batch.

the kit started as the "Grachan" Grand Champ series. it's their low chassis "shakotan", deep offset wheels on low profile "hippari" stretched tires. some come with over fenders small or big and resemble kaido racers aka bosozoku. this is how it came out after my attempt of stripping the primer away. gave me a dirty crazed paint look. it's when I decided to go the way of rust. I always start with wheels and ride height. like how I mount the wheels with brakes to the hubs all makes a difference to my builds. I used Aoshima Watanabe's with brakes from an S13 Silvia kit. can't really see them back there, but they're there. the front suspension was switched out for one from an R32 Skyline kit, Fujimi if I recall. this gave me ground clearance which the box stock kit didn't and some camber with out too much trouble. I had to adjust the toe by cutting the steering bar down the middle and adding some styrene to hold it together. as for the rear, it wasn't my favorite method. but it still worked out. some tubing and rod to hold the brakes and wheels while achieving camber. the wheels were painted in light gun metal from Tamiya. interior and chassis and parts was sprayed with Tamiya semi-gloss black. I made the roll bar starting with a hoop from the parts box. the rest was styrene rod

Batch #2

This build was really meant to have been a clean type of build like the box art. I didn't use several parts that would make this build as i have plenty of KenMary kits. in this batch, I started with the rear light panel and front end along with the interior and body mods for rust effect. the light panel got some light gun metal, transparent red and orange for the lenses. the trim was sprayed with Alclad chrome, but for lexan. so its not shiny, which works out perfectly for this type of build. the rings and emblems were done with a Sharpe silver marker. the bumpers got the alclad treatment. I started the interior with a camel yellow roll bar, rear deck pioneer speakers. i used adhesive backed felt for carpet and added an extended shifter with clear blue knob. at the front, I cut out the fake mesh grill and add some grill material that's used for vents and even though you can't see the details, there's a radiator, a core/hinge support and the ever popular airhorns that usually play "The God Father" tune sitting behind the mesh.
