TNT Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I have a 2001 cherokee , actually daughters but it was to be a daddy daughter project. I had a 99 that i had done a ton of work on but one day a brake line busted in town. Took it to a buddies shop and it was stolen. Not moving as fast on daughters. But i did install a viper coil to replace the POS coil rail. Really simple up grade. The dodge V 10 uses a 6 pack coil and a 4 pack coil. You can build a wire loom connector and buy the wires but it is easier to buy a kit. Has been needing plugs changed for some time but them coil rails are notorious for breaking and misfiring. So i installed the new coil and E3 plugs. the bracket fits over the coolant jug using the 2 screws to hold it in place, that is the weak point. It is a bit of weight to only be held with 2 screws, not bolts but screws. But it is still worth it. Also have the headlight harness upgrade. I did put that on my 99 and it really helped brighten the headlights. It is a harness with 2 relays that basically makes the headlight switch just a switch, it takes all the voltage and heat off of the switch. Just have to remove the grill and headlights. Funny how many upgrades can been done to the basic vehicle. The XJ is about the perfect SHTF BOV once you do a little work to it. The 1999 is about the best one.

iamsuperdan Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 I saw that title and thought we were in for an incredibly wild Jeep XJ build! Still, I can get behind any XJ project. I still miss my old 93 Sport.

My 99 had 4:10 gears, van guard rear bumper n tire carrier, the 1 ton kit in the transfer case, a terra flex SYE, and a bunch more. Long way away from that on daughters. Do have the 1 ton kit and the van guard bumper and 10s axles for the rear probably other stuff i forgot.
