Gary Chastain Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Got the front panel together, will need some finish work, but all the radius surfaces are now there. Seems weird to be building from the top down or up side down. 1
Jürgen M. Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Looking great! New ways of approaching things can help sometimes. Seems to be working for you! Keep going! 1

I went to the Archer website and it looks to me that they are up and running as the header says Under New Management so I assumed things are operational but I know what happens when one ‘ assumes’ What size did you buy ? It is so hard to know what size things are when all a guy can do is look on line instead of holding the package in your hand…..

I am not hampered by matching existing rivet spacing on a truck cab, which can be a challenge. I bought “0” scale which is close to 1:25 model scale 7/8 dia rivet. If you look at the sheets I bought, there are several spacing options on the sheet. 1

Jürgen M. Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 That box looks just perfect! I'm amazed how precise and even everything looks! I'll keep watching! 1

I'm amazed how precise and even everything looks! I'll keep watching! Thanks guys, might be stealing some ideas from you guys. Gonna try the mud guards that Steve built (the half round fenders in front of the rear drive wheels). The more accurate I build the structure, the easier it is to finish. 1
Jürgen M. Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) That's true! Accuracy pays off! I don't think anyone will see it as stealing If you take over ideas! I've done it and I'd be happy to see someone borrowing mine! We're all learning from eachother. That's why we share our builds here! Keep going! Fun to watch! Edited October 18, 2024 by Jürgen M. 2
Gary Chastain Posted October 18, 2024 Author Posted October 18, 2024 Door frame built, doors cut and fitted. Next up hinges and final fit of door frame to the box. And USPS did not deliver any parts? today, even if the web says delivery Friday quick mock-up to check the fit of the box to see if height works. 1
