AlbertS Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 I am working on a large-sized dump body insert salt spreader and am looking for gears and chains to drive the auger and spinners. Just wondering if you have any ideas on sources. Thank you for your response. AB
LDO Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Gears or sprockets? There are aftermarket chains for motorcycle models. The old Monogram Mack truck has a chain drive rear axle. Maybe the parts from it could work.
AlbertS Posted November 2, 2024 Author Posted November 2, 2024 Thanks for the reply. I have looked and not been able to find any. Might u have any aftermarket names to direct me to for these?
LDO Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Tamiya has an aftermarket 1/6 scale chain. It’s their part number 12674. They have a 1/12 scale set that includes sprockets, but it is apparently out of production. Here’s a link for the 1/6 chain https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/12633/index.html I may have some spare Monogram Mack truck parts. I can check if you want.
rattle can man Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 motorcycle models? model train detail parts?
Fat Brian Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I used the drive chain off one of the little mini bikes to make a drive for a hydraulic pump. 1
AlbertS Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Thx for the reply's. I hadn't been on the board in a while and never got any notice of responses. Just wanted to again say thanks and not appear rude. Still working towards the gears and chains, even looked into the gears on RC axles, but the chain part is not to scale.
