Exhaust pipes are what keep me up at nights - making them out of metal presents this problem - annealing brass or nickel softens the material - but repeated bending and shaping causes the metal to “work harden” - and you can use solder to make a pipe - but solder doesn’t like glue - any glue - so …

I decided to see whether i can solder silver solder - that has a hi temp melting point - to something - in this case - a random peice of white metal - using lo temp solder ….  It worked …

How about lo temp soldering two pieces of solder together ?  Hell’s bells - it worked …

For instance on the 25 - you need to bond exhaust pipe ends and then bend them in and around the cylinder heads …. This is doable with lo temp solder wire and hi temp silver solder - away we go ….

Seat time - the Auto-Kits 25 white metal seat has the correct shape but is a bit too wide for my monocoque - so its gone to surgery …

Thanks TS - the steering wheel is slightly offset because the steering colomn jogs left to grab the steering rack in between the brake and clutch pedals - but true enlightenment aludes you …  anyone else ?

The publisher reversed the photo negative - poor Mr Tipler either missed this or never got a chance to check the final draft - oops - in the age of the I ph - the reader can  make his own photo correction …

Most Girling Brake assemblies in this era used 10.5 in discs - sometimes paired with 9.5 in discs for the fronts - so I’m cutting discs in both sizes - in scale i’m using 10.5 mm and 9.5 mm - thats close enough …
