absmiami Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 Most Girling Brake assemblies in this era used 10.5 in discs - sometimes paired with 9.5 in discs for the fronts - so I’m cutting discs in both sizes - in scale i’m using 10.5 mm and 9.5 mm - thats close enough … 1
absmiami Posted August 22 Author Posted August 22 The headstock on the Sherline swivels w the removal of a setting bar at the base - allowing a 30 degree angled cut - spec is probably closer to 45 degrees but my cross slide is the old “shorty” w limited travel - sherline makes a longer slide - $$ - maybe some day … 1

absmiami Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 I know that the Maser needs some love - but the Lotus refuses to leave the bench - the set up on the mill vice described in the Maser post was used to drill .016 holes into a section of .040 nickel silver tube - this section of tubing will be parted in the middle - and i’ll have two steering wheel columns … now back to the lathe for the instr dash gauge rings … 1

The fuel filler collar on the Indy Lotus 38 is up next - while i’ve got the mill machine on the w bench … 1
