Funkychiken Posted January 26 Posted January 26 So this is a simple kit and probably designed for slot car conversion, but I'm going to try my best to give it some minor mods that make it look less toy llike. This pic shows how many parts there are, above and beyod this is the tyres, the clear bits and the decal sheet. The body has had the mould lines cleaned up - they were quite severe, hopefully not lost too much detail with the sanding. The seats didn't have a cushion, so made them with a sheet of styrene. The dash and foot wells look too basic - so will be modding them a bit. This will be the centre console - again out of sheet styrene These little pieces with end up being the pedals- again out of styrene sheet. 2
MarkJ Posted January 27 Posted January 27 No way I could work in a scale this small. I commend you for being able to do it and have this one totally tuned in till the end of the journey. 1
Funkychiken Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 I've done a lot o spraying, masking & more spraying. First image is of the chassis, its very siple, but I masked and picked out the exhaust in Silver using Proscale paints. 2nd and 3rd image is of the interior tub finshed. First it was sprayed Proscale grey primer, then tamiya X-18, then masked & painted white with Proscale white primer. Finally, the half cylinder was painted red - only to add a bright colour, not following any reference images. 4th, 5th & 6th Photos are of the body and the body parts. Currently now flashing off & awaiting soe Proscale 2K clear. these were pimered with Proscale grey, sanded, then proscale white primer, sanded, then Zero red (similar to a tamiya spray - italian red). I'm probably going to start building the chassis before finishing the body... happy with the quality of the finish so far...! 1
Funkychiken Posted May 23 Author Posted May 23 Minor update, the extra pieces I've scratched have been assembled into the interior tub. Next up is final assey of the interior, then I still need to 2k Clear coat thebody shell...
Funkychiken Posted Wednesday at 09:24 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 09:24 PM Interior tub is now finished, the extra details took some effort, they don't look perfect, but through the windows they will look good enough. The body shell was clear coated with Zero 2K on the BH weekend. not great results, mostly heavy orange peel. going to have to get the sanding and polishing kit out... 1
