BK9300 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Another impressive looking build, Jürgen - hope your hood arrives soon - it will be the finishing touch! 1 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 I'm thinking about the head lights! I'm not so convinced anymore If it really looks good! I do have rectangular doubles in the box. What do you guys think? 1

Jürgen M. Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 (edited) You mean like these? Thanks for your honest opinion Guys! Edited March 12 by Jürgen M. 2
RoninUtah Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I agree with the others. Square headlights are part of the "look" of this particular truck. 1
Rockford Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Yep, squares would look gooder. Good looking build mate, you're excelling again. 1 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 Thanks everyone! I'm convinced! 👍 Squares it shall be! 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 How's this? Also got the end pieces of the fuel tanks: 4
BK9300 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Another 3D creation has come to from the 'flat' bed of your printer - looks good, Jürgen! 1 1
RoninUtah Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Dang, this is looking like a truck! I like the Utah plate 👍 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it! Till the new hood arrives there's not much to do. Put the side steps on the tanks and sleeper, rear plates, chains, a bit of fine tuning here and there! Still missing: fuel filler caps, bumper has to be glued on, ... 3
Biggu Posted March 13 Posted March 13 That sure looks like a heavy duty tractor, JM. Great job ! And, you make your own decals. Way ahead of me buddy. Can’t wait to see the new hood ! 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 Thanks Jeff! Concerning the decals, I created them on the computer, mostly Powerpoint or something and then I print them on decal paper, either white or transparent. On white you get deeper colors but you have to cut them out very precisely. In this case I used a transparent sheet. The colors didn't come out as deep as I hoped but it was easy to cut them out! The hood tilts pretty well! And here's a birds eye view! 4
Jürgen M. Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Hi everyone! Been a while since I last posted to this thread! I'm waiting for the resin hood Bren printed for me. It's on its way across the ocean! Meanwhile I thought about a possible trailer and decided to make a lowboy! Something like this: This is the first shot of a virtual mock-up: Still a lot missing but I guess it'll be OK! 2
Rockford Posted March 21 Posted March 21 That's going to be a great trailer to pair with your Mack. Great combination. 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Thanks Steve! I thought a lot about it till I finally decided what to pair it with. I want to put two other Mack trucks on the lowboy, sort of a Mack family thing! 1
Biggu Posted March 21 Posted March 21 JM , you come up with some really cool ideas. This is one of them …. Your talents abound buddy ! 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 (edited) This is the "making of" of the trailer chassis: Tires are also printed cause I didn't have any small ones in the box! Assembled chassis with axles and brake drums! The white "stoppers" we're box parts. Assembled wheels: Chassis almost complete! I chose smaller wheels because as far as I know lowboys mostly do have smaller ones. Here you can see the difference in size compared to the truck wheels: Edited March 21 by Jürgen M. 3
BK9300 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Jürgen, it is very interesting to watch the endless ideas you have come to life - the trailer will look great with a couple of Mack's on it! 1
Jürgen M. Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Thank you very much! Very nice of you to say that! I'm glad my ideas find approval ! 😊 1
