Biggu Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Gary, your eye for the custom details is fabulous. You have a vision that I don’t see for myself and then to execute those ideas to precision is really fun to watch come together. I really like this project.

Thanks Jeff, sometimes lucky sometimes another part for the “box of bad ideas” 1
Gary Chastain Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 Starting to get some final assembly done, rear fender next. 4
Gary Chastain Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 Had to lower the bumper (about .030) in order for the hood to rotate open correctly. 5

Washed in dish soap, primer twice, light sand to clean up bugers then paint and clear. Was surprised the detail came out so well. Cool part is my mirrors rotate on the aluminum rod so I can align them like a real truck where passenger side is turned in more. Silly little detail 3 1
Gary Chastain Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 Good progress today, headache, frames deck, rear light panel and fenders all on. 5
Gary Chastain Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 Got the exhaust on, thinking about yellow lights and a test fit to make sure trailer clears fenders. 6
BK9300 Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Looking fabulous, Gary - progress is really moving along! 2
Jürgen M. Posted November 3 Posted November 3 A very impressive rig Gary! Tidy work and beautiful dezails! 1
Gary Chastain Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 This grill thing is just OVER, it’s not fitting correctly, the center bar came out again. I am starting over with a new hood, flares and redesigned grill. Hood is prepped for primer, got another set of flares flat sanded and fitted to fenders, grill will be different, I have some custom grill material that I will experiment with. Another grill in the purple pond. 4
Gary Chastain Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 After some careful surgery, 😂😵💫🤣, I was able to remove the grill and the old grill surround from the painted hood with no damage to the hood or paint. Now to see what I can create for a grill. 4
Biggu Posted November 4 Posted November 4 this looks to be a real good compromise and brilliant fix in the making. I’m watching closely. I know I will get an idea or two.
Gary Chastain Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 New grill complete, little bit of cleanup, then primer. 5
BK9300 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 The photo etch stuff is sure nice, but your new, modified, grille has the KW emblem retained, and overall, looks better I think. Nice work! 3

Nice work! Ya know, PE is an experience, great for dash/gages, great small details, but for that grill, that was a problem, PE windshield wipers drive me nuts as well. I think PE is good for some things but not everything. 2
