James2 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Cool project, can't go wrong with fast Elco. Your craftsmanship is showing thru nicely.... 1
keviiin86 Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 Got my photoetch set in the mail and put the emblems on. Those tiny fender emblems with seperate engine size script really tested my patience lol..but got them on. Then laid on some duplicolor clear coat. 2
keviiin86 Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 I added some BMF around the windows and glued in the glass to figure out how much room i have to the headliner for the cage. This roll cage has been kicking my butt, keep needing to tweak and cut and rebend the bars to get it to tuck up close to the headliner. I must have test fit the body chassis and interior together 30 times to get to this point lol. While I was waiting for the glue to dry on the roll cage I added a basic 4 point harness to the bench seat also.
Calb56 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Looks excellent. May I ask what gauge of Aluminum wire you used for the roll bar cage? It looks spot on. 1

keviiin86 Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 Roll cage is done and painted and interior bucket is complete..onto the chassis now. 2
keviiin86 Posted Saturday at 06:49 PM Author Posted Saturday at 06:49 PM Added a sump to the gas tank and painted and dirtied up the chassis to make it look like a driver.
Dragline Posted Sunday at 04:51 PM Posted Sunday at 04:51 PM Those AMT 67 Chevelle headers are the best. Copies need to be made so I can put em on everything I build. BTW, your project ROCKS! 1

Yeah man I agree..I think Matt Conte (Luka Cee) used to resin cast them..wish someone else would so I don't have to buy a whole kit or a parts tree off ebay for way too much just for headers lol. But thanks, its coming along, should hopefully start falling together soon. 1
