Yo i had a thought that popped up in my head a few nights ago.I don't know if it has been done or not but what the heck. Now i know there are kits out there of the beatnik bandet, chezoom, and a few others and those are off limits. But there are cars such as badfish(foose design),glomad(snapon tool's show car)the impala that troy turpanea(spelt wrong) from rad rides, the 70 superbird that goldburg made and sold for $501,000 at the auction and many others that changed the automotive world when they hit SEMA.Tese are the ones im talking about.

The rules are lax and they are forgiving on time limit.

1:you have to show a pic of the 1:1.

2:you have to modify a stock or 3 in 1 kit to acheve the look(no alter nomads, chezooms, beatnik bandits or other kits that you put togeather and say "that was scratch built").

3:it has to look just like the 1:1with the exception of hoods, doors, and trunks opening but if you want to go ahead.

4:has to be done by the end of the year at 12 midnight(told you it was lax).

5:must be a custome only(non of those race cars, dragsters,or any competition cars.

6:enter as many as you want just as long as you can finish them by the end of the year.

7:have fun.

So what do you guys think?

So basicly what your saying is lets build a show car without buying a kit of one. Sounds do-able. Would cars built on Overhaulin' and Wrecks to Riches fit in this catagory too?

Kevin,

Would a car from "Monster Garage" qualify for your famous car build off? I few years back I built a 1/25 scale version of project Freezer Burn, for an NNL East class.....

Wadda ya think?

Hay as long as it was a actual car built by a known customizer, fabricator, star it can be done the only thing is it had to atleast appear at the SEMA show or the barrett jackson auto trade.

Kevin the tighter you make these rules the more people you are going to lose.

How about-

Build a replica of any car built by any famous hot rod builder, but you may not use a pre-existing kit of the show-car in question ala Ala Kart, Predicta etc.

Sound good?
