DoctorLarry Posted June 2 Posted June 2 After I finished my Motion Buick Skylark, I wanted to continue with Buicks. Perry's Resin used to do a 68 Skylark GS in resin but it is long gone. Occasionally they pop up on EBAY and go for big money. I've bid on and lost probably 4 or so over the years. Recently files were created for 3D printers for a 69 Skylark and Skylark wagon. The body is pretty accurate; the hood not so. The lines are wrong. The interior is not correct for the 69 DeLuxe interior in the GS. I made my own molds and cast it in resin for my Motion build and fixed the hood lines. There are lots of printers offering the 69 kits now. The chassis are pretty basic and the interiors as well, as far as being accurate. The dash and console are great. However, no 1968 kit yet. To do this for my build, I created a 69 to 68 "fix". I used the 68 Chevelle as a donor for the 69 chassis and interior and created my own seats and door panels. For the 68, the hood is different, the deck lid has trim on it, the rear marker lights are different. the fenders are cut out for a gill vent. The interior is also really different. So I made my own. The Chevelle rear seat is too wide so I created the door panels to look like the real ones do and made new seats. The front seats are wider and flatter with no head rests. I used 66 GTO seats and cut the middle out which made them just right to modify. The 68 also had a column shift console which I duplicated. I will make molds of everything and cast them up. 3
