RodneyBad Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Ah I get it, you were making a joke about my craftsmanship.... GRRR lol jk jk. It actually looks really good I should be able to finish up the back end and the side skirt tonght, woo! Not at all, Ya said it was Very Rough. It was only a weee bit ruff. Very Rough would be No shape. I thought you had some Extra plastic to cut off till I saw ya molding it in. Using Bondo Glazing putty (Heard that's the best to use by Mr TreeHugger) Or a 2 part Filler?(Evergreen Rage, Heard that's the best to use by Mr TreeHugger Too) or Squadron Green? (not the best but I have used it a time or three) Build on.
LVZ2881 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 a little update on my DriftShelby....some mock up pics. still need to finish the PE belts for the drivers seat and install it, otherwise interior is done....body is ready for white primer. still need to finish up the front suspension.

I am using Bondo glazing putty, it works really well for me, little goes ALONG way so. Had some setbacks. I may not make the deadline for this build, but I am going to try. Im just calculating what it will take for me to do the other side, and the roll cage, and I still have to do the turbo But I hope for best
The Red Ranger Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) So I have made some progress, ALMOST done with the drivers side, almost ready to start on the passenger side. Really scared. Still have to install the front bumper cover, I think i want to go with a Wing, but I am not sure. EDIT* Look below for the final design, now I just have to finish building lol. RodneyBad Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I am leaning more towards the second one myself. Just let me know. I Second your Seconds. I got the Good Ole Bondo Glazing Putty too. That is turning out better than Expected and really good too.
The Red Ranger Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) Thank you, I'm contemplating putting sponsors on it since it is a drift car, and I have started my own Model car racing team (A theme that will be present with a few of my builds) but Im not sure. I appreciate it. I agree, I am all about prepping and planning, but for me I am always thinking of new things so sometimes I go off the page, and a few points there were blind choices made that worked out. I only hope I can duplicate this for the other side of the car. EDIT** This is the final design. At least with graphics and such, I am pretty positive the color Combo wont be touched. The Blue and Orange look great with the green lettering I think it's tight! Edited August 23, 2009 by The Red Ranger
vizio93 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Wow i haven't seen this tread in a while. i think it's time to bring it back cause' the deadline is comin' up. i've gotten some progress on my porsche. the interior is all done and now i have to put the decals on it. might have some pics tonight.
LVZ2881 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I got paint on my DriftShelby, and the bodies polished out, doing the black around the glass now...hope to start decaling tonight... chassis is done other than mouting wheels, which I'll do after the body is on. I'll post pics later when I get home.
The Red Ranger Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Unfortunately I must report that I will not be done in time for the Build off's deadline. I am still going to push through and get the car done but not in time for the deadline.

I like the way your Home Depot 'Stang is coming out, but do you think the "Coach" would like a Mustang, when Toyota pays all the bills?
kyledr330 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Boy I wish I would of seen this post a few months ago. Outstanding work guys!!! Really great creativity being put into these builds.
