catpack68 Posted June 28 Posted June 28 I have been wanting to do an exhaust like this on a 1/25 semi truck project I want to build. There’s nothing in the aftermarket that I have found and no hobby shops close by around here that I can go check their Evergreen round tube supply.Does anyone know what size Evergreen round tubing I could purchase online to do something like this?
sidcharles Posted June 28 Posted June 28 (edited) looks minimum 4" (1:1 = actual) diameter / maybe 5" or 6". the evergreen catalog takes a little getting used to: EVERGREEN SCALE MODELS and doesn't have everything, but between it and Plastruct, you should be able to get what you need: Catalog – Plastruct the only caution i would offer is to stay away from ABS plastic. just a personal choice; guys that use it may find it fine. don't forget the protective screen so Bear don't get burnt. this is too good not to post edit: skip the 45 degree doglegs and put some proper "flipper" tops on the pipes. nothing prettier than seeing them straight up with rolling coal in the wind. RW033 Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Depends on the look you’re going for as well. I purchased theses for this exact purpose but I ended up using stainless 10mm fuel line: 1
Muncie Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Factory would be dual 5" exhaust, but that looks a little larger. Without putting a tape measure on it, it's probably aftermarket exhaust with dual 6" diameter pipes Evergreen sizes available are 5" in 1/25 is 0.2, in Evergreen would be 3/16, and I think that would look a little puny. Evergreen 7/32 at 0.219 diameter would be 5-1/2". With scale effect it would look ideal. (Some agree with scale effect for tubing, some don't) To go to 6", that's 0.24, In Evergreen, that would be 1/4" and look plenty truck tough. Another thought... The pipe looks like it is about the same diameter as the blind spot mirror under the main mirror. That would be 8". Make that .032 in 1/25 scale, 5/16" in Evergreen. Best option may be to order a couple of sizes and pick the size that looks best And that is a great looking White Freightliner that just popped up! 1
