First, it's a '65 even though they always call it a '66.  The other cars in the series are all '66 though.

That said, it's a curbside kit.  It originated as a slot car body along with all the others (yes, I have seen a '66 Cadillac slot car).  Chassis and interior are shared with one or more of the other cars in the series, with the instrument panel detail coming via a decal.  Wheels are generic and shared with other cars as well.  But the body details are pretty good.  I believe all of them were copied from AMT, MPC, and Jo-Han annual kit bodies back when they were new.

Here are some pics of the slot car in its original form.

The body was copied from an AMT promo back in the day so the proportions are actually okay. The chassis and interior were designed years later (after the slot car boom went bust) and they are super generic and kinda suck. Having said that, I have one :) .
