PorkChopPaws Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM I was wondering if the Hasegawa 66 Chevy is a slammer type model or a complete kit with engine etc? Thank you
Mark Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM First, it's a '65 even though they always call it a '66. The other cars in the series are all '66 though. That said, it's a curbside kit. It originated as a slot car body along with all the others (yes, I have seen a '66 Cadillac slot car). Chassis and interior are shared with one or more of the other cars in the series, with the instrument panel detail coming via a decal. Wheels are generic and shared with other cars as well. But the body details are pretty good. I believe all of them were copied from AMT, MPC, and Jo-Han annual kit bodies back when they were new. 3

Carmak Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Here are some pics of the slot car in its original form. The body was copied from an AMT promo back in the day so the proportions are actually okay. The chassis and interior were designed years later (after the slot car boom went bust) and they are super generic and kinda suck. Having said that, I have one . 1 1
