Shark Posted August 2 Posted August 2 I'm glad you're doing this, I just got one of those bodies last week and was trying to figure out what frame to use. Definitely will be following along. 1
bobss396 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Very nice, who sells the body kit? I like using the AMT donor chassis. One thing to watch, I did one the same way, put the splice where you did. It puts the transmission too far forward. It looks way worse on my car since the splice was wider.

I lengthen the drive shaft the same distance I stretched the chassis and remove the top of the linkage on the transmission.

Nice to see you have the glass.

Shark Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Thanks Gerald. I got the body from Ace Decals, but I knew you had something to do with it, so there was no hesitation in purchasing one. 1

DoctorLarry Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I actually used Rust Oleum colors on my build. The match was pretty spot on. I was a little hesitant because of how slowly it dries but I was able to mask it without issues. Are you using Tamiya for the yellow as well?

DoctorLarry Posted Tuesday at 12:47 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:47 PM What did you use for the red stripe? I used nail tape on mine. Decals turned out great. Do you clear coat your decals?

Do you clear coat your decals? The pinstripe came on the Powerslide decal sheet. I apply a light coat of 2K before and after the decals.
