Big Messer Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) This is something like the house trucks sometimes seen in the PNW, New Zealand and Australia. Started as a cheap tin truck that was on sale at Hobby Lobby, then I scratchbuilt the house part out of cardboard and wood. Wood shingles made out of thin edging veneer. Very nice scratch building and something a bit different.
Spex84 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 That is so cool! I love the shingles, and the flex-straw as a stovepipe. A subject like this introduces possibilities of texture and pattern that most model car/truck builds lack. I'd love to own a house truck like this, although maybe without deadly vintage split rim wheels haha. 1
Big Messer Posted August 17 Author Posted August 17 Being an addict to unusual and/or crazy prototypes I made this after seeing a picture of a real one somewhere. Googled "house truck" ... and the rest is history. Had to beg ($$$) for forgiveness from wife for having the dining room table full of stuff for a while (it it a large model) but eventually everything went back to almost normal.
