Harry P. Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I agree! I never liked the "new" Charger... it doesn't look like a Charger! This one is way better, but given Chrysler's current situation, I wouldn't hold my breath...
MrObsessive Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 The current Charger is "okay" in a pedestrian kind of way........but IMO Chrysler would have been MUCH better off if they would have built this.............. Instead they come out with what's now on the road............what a disappointment!
Clay Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) I actually like the one out now. I just wish that they would have done a 2 door version of it. Would have been killer to see it in the newer Dukes of Hazzard movie. On a side note, hopes for a smokey and the Bandit remake are smashed to peices..... Edited May 21, 2009 by Clay
Guest promodmerc Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 IMO they are both ugly as sin. But that's the new Chrysler for you. The Chalenger is the only good looking car I've seen from them since the early '70s other than the Viper.
Harry P. Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I agree with Bill 1,000%! The concept Charger is the car they should have made. In fact, when I saw the concept version a few years ago for the first time, I decided right then that that was going to be my next car. But instead, they came out with a blocky, frumpy "Charger." What a letdown!
MrObsessive Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 When Car and Driver came out with an artists rendering of what the current Charger would look like (a few months before debut) the email and snail mail was absolutely BALLISTIC!! Car and Driver went on to say a couple months later that they've never received so much hate mail about a single car in their whole publishing life! The Mopar forums were also not as forgiving, with a lot of folks expecting the car to be a lot like the concept. I'll betcha Chrysler's sale to Daimler had a lot to do with the current Charger's looks.............IIRC the company was being sold right around the same time as the concept was making the rounds. A real shame..................
