In case you haven't guessed, I rather enjoy MADHSQUIRREL!!!!! Anyways.... I'm building this for a friend who's winery burned down a couple of months ago. It's going to be box stock with candy paint and his logo on the side. Don't tell him, it's a surprise 🤫.

What is the purpose of the large hole in the firewall with nothing supplied to fill it? Nothing in the instructions nor on the trees. I'm fixing it, I'm curious if there's a purpose for it.

I filled the gaps with ca and commenced to sanding. I bought one of those rechargeable sanders. Theyre great. Just don't hold it in one place too long 😕

Unless I'm mistaken, that firewall has always had a gaping hole in it. I remember it from the first time I built this kit (around 1980). I think it was just meant to help the Chevy big block clear the body, and that was the easiest and cheapest way.

I guess they never fixed it in later releases of the kit.

I have a '39 coupe. The hole is there.
