Moparman18064 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I am replicating my current 1:1 ride. Being that the Revell kit is an automatic and non sunroof car, I picked up the Revell Street Burner Magnum SRT just for the sunroof, and a Texas 3d Customs Tremec 6060 for a Mustang to make the conversion. I also have a VCG Resins pistol grip shifter for it. I will have to modify the bell housing to match the Hemi. 1
Moparman18064 Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 After carefully looking at my car, and measuring 3 times with dial caliper, I have a pattern 2
Moparman18064 Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 After 2 hours of carefully cutting with the back side of a #11 blade, and filing over and over, it fits. This would be the major make or break pitfall of the build, I believe 4
Moparman18064 Posted November 9 Author Posted November 9 Got some color on it, Scalefinishes 2009 Dodge Brilliant Black Pearl. I only have one coat of 2K clear on, gun messed up at trunk area. That’s ok, I planned on wet sanding, putting on the carbon fiber stripes and re clearing 4

Moparman18064 Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 So, when I bought this kit on EBay, it was supposed to be just opened box, not started. This was not the case. It seems a child, or someone not versed in tube glue usage got to it. The engine was assembled, with exhaust manifolds on backwards, of course with piles of glue, and let’s not forget, just dip the whole engine in Testors gloss black enamel. They also painted the chassis pan and floor pan/ engine compartment very heavily with same paint. After a week of soaking in Super Clean and scrubbing, I still have this: 1
Moparman18064 Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 I did manage to make hood decals from Scale Motorsport’s twill carbon fiber, and cleared 3
Moparman18064 Posted Wednesday at 04:09 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:09 AM Grille and bumper pretty much done. A member on another forum sent me all the engine parts from his kit, as he is building a super stocker. I cut off the NAG auto trans, and the Texas 3d Customs Tremec 6060( for a Mustang), so that I could mate it to the Hemi. I then modified the bell housing to more closely match the real thing. 1
Moparman18064 Posted Wednesday at 04:17 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:17 AM Started to get chassis looking like the real car. I made heat shields by pressing aluminum foil against the knurled part of exacto knife.I painted and assembled interior, made clutch and brake pedals, modified the automatic console to manual, shortened a VCG Resins pistol grip to look more like my actual shifter. For velour sections of interior, I used Tamiya extra thin and baking powder( was quite messy to do) 1
Moparman18064 Posted Wednesday at 04:21 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:21 AM Stripped and painted wheels gloss black, followed by Alclad polished aluminum, Molotow and Vallejo gray blue. I assembled chassis, rotors, wheels, exhaust. I scratch built a clutch master cylinder from clear sprue 3
Shelby 427 1965 Posted Thursday at 09:21 AM Posted Thursday at 09:21 AM Looking great! Nothing better than having a 1/1 for reference too. Love the attention to detail with changing the gearbox too. Many wouldn't bother. Props! 1
