Trainwreck Posted Sunday at 07:41 PM Posted Sunday at 07:41 PM If you use metal spacers like I do and want to keep them virtually rust free throw a packet of silica sand (like you would find in a new pair of shoes) in the drawer with them. It will draw the moisture from the surrounding area, keeping it away from your metal bits. This method also works for tools, so keep um purdy now that you know. 2
PHPaul Posted Sunday at 11:56 PM Posted Sunday at 11:56 PM I do that in small spaces. For larger spaces, a plastic film cannister with a couple of holes punched in it and a couple of big chunks of crystalized camphor inside works well. Smells good too. 1

I worked with pneumatic cylinders for years, humidity was their enemy so they were always shipped with huge packets, I've got some that are 3"x5" so I never had to worry about alternatives but that's a good tip about the camphor.
