After Accurate Miniatures shut down, I think it was Revell that bought the remaining stock of the Grand Sport cars and sold them in their boxes.  You might find one of those kits on eBbay every once in awhile.  I haven't heard of anyone buying the molds and planning on reissuing the kit.  Since you said you were just looking for the engine for a project, there are a couple of options:

If you know someone that can 3D print the parts, there are a similar type 3D files of the engines available on like Cults3D and Cgtrader that you can buy and print up, though some do have you buy a base engine and the intake separately.  Some examples are:
