Got this yesterday. Opened it immediately and almost immediately got to working at it. The kit had lots of flash, was an MPC/Ertl era kit judging from the imprint on some of the sprues and was molded in an awful shade of blue. But happily, it was not as brittle as some oldies I have had, even though the body sides were a bit wavy and the frame was warped & replaced with a modified 1967 Streaker Vette frame and will get an AMT '34 Ford street rod kit's Corvette rear end grafted in to replace the dodgy, frail stock rear end with poor details.

Excellent source of info on the 1/1 cars. John Silva created the first replica of the Bill Mitchell Mako Shark II on a 1960s era Corvette chassis in 1969, though few pictures of period Silva Macos exist to confirm whether he started with a C2 or a C3.

Lookin good. I have pieces of one of these in my stash. No clue if I'll ever use them.

Hint, when it comes to filler, less is better. Fill, sand repeat. Put on to much at once and in time it will shrink. How do I know this? Over-coated sanded excess. A year later it was worse than what I started with.

thank you! I believe the filler was thinner in person than photos made it look, but you are absolutely right.
