Roadkill2525 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 My other car for the drift build, Aoshima Best Car GT #70 '86 was the first year of the FC. The Work Meister S1, centers painted Tamiya Met. Black and Hobby Design valve stems.
vizio93 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 wow i like it. the wheels look nice. what color are you gonna paint it ?
Roadkill2525 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 how is the chassis and interior detail on that one? i have the Fujimi Initial D kit and it's pretty crude. Dave The chassis has seperate sub-assemblies for the suspension, two different exhaust (single and split), the interior pan is nice but nothing spectacular, contains a few parts from the late model but not all parts, headlights can be either up or down (with some work be lazy-eye), window masks and has decals for GT-R or GT-X. I don't know if they had the USDM dash when Blue Fin was importing Aoshima kits.
Roadkill2525 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 what color are you gonna paint it ? I haven't decided on color yet, I've been looking through my issues of Modified Mag and on Google. I was thinking about the paint scheme on the 787B but felt its been done on every other Mazda out there. Here's one I like.

FujimiLover Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 (edited) I like that red one too, and your wheels will match! The Fujimi kit is the same as ALL of their FC3S kit's no matter how Fujimi packs it. Maybe only difference being types of wheels. If you have the Initial D kit, it has those same aerodynamic mirrors. I think that is another difference in kit's. The Initial D models have different mirrors and bumpers. So you might want to hunt down an I.D. Fujimi kit for parts. I wonder if Fujimi's LH dashboard will work with other kits of the same car? beefheart22 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Great choice -- the RX-7 is probably my favorite Japanese sports car. Red is always a solid color, but I always thought white looked the best on the earlier models.
jbwelda Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 that paint scheme looks kool, lower it to the ground and you got a winner.
Roadkill2525 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) I won't be painting it red, I like the segmented stripe but still looking at other designs (including Bosozoku style). How about something retro? Im using aero mirrors from the Drift Machine series kits and a pair of Bride seats. Edited June 2, 2009 by El Destructo Inc

Nick F40 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I LOVE these. I'd make sure I have seals and plenty of oil if I own a real one but i'd love to have one. I like all that's on this page, I especially would go with the retro schemes.
FujimiLover Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 While I like that green theme, I think it only works on that particular model. I don't know if it'll work on the newer generation. Paint flow, has got to match body lines. I prefer the red one.
