Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Hey, y'all. Here's my first WIP on MCM. It's a 1975 Impala moonshine runner. The body is from the Modelhaus, and the chassis is a 1963 Impala. The push bar is from the General Lee, and the wheels/tires are from the parts box. This car goes with my favourite song, Copperhead Road. Well my names John Lee Pettimore same as my daddy, and his daddy before ya hardly ever saw granddaddy down here he only come to town 'bout twice a year he'd buy hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line everybody knew that he made moonshine now the revenue man wanted grand daddy bad he left the holler with everything he had 'fore my time I've been told never come back from Copperhead Road granddaddy ran whisky in a big black Dodge he bought at an auction at the Mason's Lodge Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side he just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside well him and my uncle tore that engine down I still remember that rumblin' sound the sheriff came 'round in the middle of the night heard mamma cryin' knew somethin' was'nt right he's headed down to Knoxsville with the weekly load you can smell the whisky burnin' down Copperhead Road I volunteered for the Army on my birthday they draft the white trash first 'round here anyway I done two tours of duty in Vietnam I came home with a brand new plan I take the seed from Columbia and Mexico I just plant 'nother holler down Copperhead Road now the DEA got a chopper in the air I get to screamin' like I'm back over there I learned a thing or two from Charlie don't ya know you better stay away from Copperhead Road Copperhead Road Copperhead Road up Copperhead Road Edited June 14, 2009 by Mustang3.8
Guest 85Biarittz Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Your'e off to a good start. Like the song too. Reminds me of growing up.
LUKE'57 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I'm just a little older than that. "Now let me tell the story, I can tell it all About the mountain boy who ran illegal alcohol Daddy made the whiskey, son he drove the load And when his engine roared they called the highway THUNDER ROAD." Here's a model of my first ride from back in '63 when I first got my license. Funny you should mention this as I just got a shipment from Junior Johnson (yes, that Jr. Johnson) this weekend along with a couple of the 1/2 scale hoods advertising his "Midnight Moon" brand. There's a REAL difference in the old racers and the new "pretty boys".
Captain Obvious Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Nice! '70s land yachts don't get enough love!
