Greetings to all,

I've found the following kit on E-bay and I'm interested in getting it and would hope there would be some folks here who will help out with information and opinions concerning this kit.

The kit is the AMT/ERTL 1/25 '32 Ford Coupe #38254.

I build straight from the box so how is the "fit" of the kit?

I like the decals (flames) over the hood and fenders. It looks as if I will need to paint the front protion of the fenders and radiator while the hood will be covered with the decals. Am I correct?

What would be an acceptable price for this kit?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe :o

I think Mark is basically right. As somebody who was there back in the day, I can tell you that the AMT kit is an absolute classic and I still enjoy building the old AMT stuff. They can come out looking really good...BUT they are not up to modern standards. You need to give them a little TLC and understanding to make a good build. Revell, on the other hand, is cranking out the "new classics" right now and if you like Duece Coupes I'll bet Revell's will knock your socks off!

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for the info. I must admit to moderate modelling skills at best. This particular issue seems to have only one building option, which for me would be good enough.

Still am interested in whether or not rhe front has to be painted white and how thw much the decals would cover. If any one has specific info on the kit concerning that, I would like to hear your opinions.

Also do you think $12.99 pllus $6.70 in shipping would be too much total for this kit?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the update on the two kits. The one thing that I really like about the AMT kit is the flame markings. More of a nostaligic thing than anything else.

I can do some filling and sanding if necessary. The bottom isn't seen when it's displayed, so as long as the top looks decent, I don't worry about a lot of detail or the lack there of.
