pstreet Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 WO. That thang is wicked. have you got any pictures of the chassis ? i need some help with mine. also where did you get those headers? this is basically as far as ive taken the chassis. Its a stock chassis that has been z'd in the front and will be in the rear when i get around to it, the tube in the rear will keep it square until then. the frame rails were channeled into the floor as well to keep enough space inside for the driver and passenger. with the heavy chop and section a traditional channeling just wouldn't work As far as i can remember, the headers came from a 57' chevy sportsman kit. it was a revell kit i think.
vizio93 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 this one? its a 55' but it should have the same 502 in it as the 57'. i think i still have it. i'll have to scrumage through my stash and find it. this time i promise i'll have pics of mine tonight.
vizio93 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 Ok here is an update. i finally got the stance right. heres some pics: heres the speaker box i made for it. i'm gonna wrap it in felt and paint the speakers silver and red. PLEASE COMMENT!!!
pstreet Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Looking good. Maybe its just a weird camera angle, but only thing i would say is that the body should either drop over the front of the frame a bit more, or be raised up on the back of the frame a touch. The reveal on the frame should run parallel to the lower edge of the body.

vizio93 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 alright i stole the beefy's from my 55' chevy sportsman and put them on the rat: i like these tires better. i think it gives it a wider stance.
pstreet Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 alright i stole the beefy's from my 55' chevy sportsman and put them on the rat: i like these tires better. i think it gives it a wider stance. Yeah id say the new tires gave it a wider stance, looks great. Since youve taken the headers and tires off of the sportsman already, why not transplant the sportsmans engine into the 32', it would do a mighty fine job of spinning those rears.

pstreet Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Awesome, with a bit of firewall massaging thats going to look great. I robbed my Sportman for all its parts some time ago as well. The engine, rear wheels and part of the frame ended up in this thing...
vizio93 Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 WO !!! i like it. that thang looks tough ! great job ! i need to go to the LHS and get some spark plug wires and a distributer. if i'm my color skeem is going to be flat black (body and frame) w/ orange accents (seats, various interior parts, wheels, ect.....) then should i get orange or yellow wires? i don't want to much orange but there won't be much color on the engine except black, chrome, and the tan color carbererators.

Only one way to find out.
Smart-Resins Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 That is one very cool truck! I have a cab with doors only I have been thinking about doing a truckster out of! I think I have made up my mind now! LOL. Jody
RyanSilva Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Dooo iiiiiitttt Jody They're fun! I need to finish this... Vizio... those slicks need giant white walls lol
Smart-Resins Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 This is where mine started life. Then I changed it to the second one. The thrid one is/was my inspiration. But still was just not into it enough to ever fnish. Now I am thinking scratching a new frame for it, and suing some front runners and firestones with a blown sohc? I have a metalic green, or ultra orange I could two tone with pavo purple? I would need to probably glue the doors shut though and keep the scratched interior simple? Jody
