hellonwheelz3 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Ok so i picked up the 1/24 scale 1969 duster "cop out" dragster. its a "basic builder", so it should be a pretty easy quick build. Its also molded in black. My question is, in order to paint certain parts of it, do i need to sand and primer it down before i paint the body?
LoneWolf15 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Every model that you build should be sanded out to remove the factory mold lines and defects , this means all of the parts ! As for this particular kit , being that it is molded in black , you have two choices. You can either primer the parts that are going to be a diffrent color , (white will be your best bet ) or use Testors Metallizer Aluminum as your base, then spray your color of choice over top. diymirage Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 take your time with this one i bought it for mt 11 year old nephew for Christmass last year and it just might be the most complex "basic builder" ever the front suspension in particular can be very tricky to get set up right just as a heads up
