Hey All,

I was thinking of some of the cars kits I've built in the past and my mind got to wandering about some old Monogram kits.

I believe it was a series of about 4 street rods.

If my memory serves me correctly one was called the Black Widow, another The Green Hornet, a third I thought was called The Cherry Bomb, but I think I saw a kit on E-bay and belive the correct name was the Red Chariot.

Seems to me there was one more.

Anybody remember this series and the names of the individual cars?

Probably depends on the time period but there cars such as:

Lil Deuce

Blue Beetle

Little T

SweeTee

Woody Wagon

Lil Coffin

Orange Hauler

Predicta

Futurista

Uncertain T

Plus all the show rods, Tijuana Taxi, Dragon Wagon, Rommels rod, Groovy Grader, S'cool Bus etc etc

I could go on & on ......................but I won't

Hi Mark,

Yep, those are the kits. It was the Red Chariot and not the Cherry Bomb I was trying to think of.

I thought there was one more in that series, but I can hardly remember 5 minutes ago let alone 45 to 50 years.

I may try and find those kits. I think it would be fun to build them again.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Hey Everybody,

Thanks for all of the replies.

I know that those kits are "junk" compared to what is available today, but it just takes me back to that time when modelling

was pure innocent fun.

I'll admit, if I come across some of those kits on E-bay or elsewhere I'll pick them up.

I build more for fun then accuracy and high level of detail. I still like the newer kits with the improvements, but I guess those kits are like the proverbial "first love", you never get completely over it.

A special thanks to Bob for his site and work.

Hi Mark,

I didn't mean junk as of no value or useless. It's just compared to the "latest and greatest" out there they would be considered sub-standard. We (or I specifically) can fall into that have to have the newest and best syndrome. I hope to always build for pleasure and satisfaction.
