caine440 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Hello I have put more time on the details on this one. And put the internet to good use. Thanks to Don at Reliable Resin, Ross Gibson engines, scale modeling by Chris, Slixx decals, Bandit resin and detail masters.com, I think I have invested as much in this model as the car I drive It still as a long way to go but so far I am happy with it. I am a huge fan of the early days of Pro Stock and the 60s and 70s MoPars. Thanks!
raisin27 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Nice work......I am a fan of the early days of pro stock racing too. You really captured the "feel" of the era! Raisin
Rick Voegelin Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Well, I think that investing in a '70s Pro Stock is smarter than investing in the stock market these days <g>. Great job on the Missile, one of my all-time favorite race cars. I've been gathering bits for a low-budget version of this build, and your work inspires me. I'd welcome more info on the aftermarket parts and pieces you used. Cheers, Rick V.
62rebel Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 cool build! sweet decal work. i miss the heyday of ProStock before it went stupid.... Doorslammers rock!
caine440 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Hello This thing has way to much aftermarket parts as I got a little carried away with all the cool stuff out on the web now that we did not have in my younger dayz. The motor is Ross Gibson, the rear tires which I think real look good are Reliable Resin, the hood Bandit resin, decals by Slixx and the wiring and rims from scale modeling by Chris. The bumpers will be from modelhaus. The kit was the 1974 Barracuda street machine I found that was partial built up on ebay. Tore it down and used it for this. Thanks
Reliable Resin Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 We've got CLEAR headlights to replace those Chrome plates plastic kit headlights email me here Directly for info> ReliableResin@aol.com Nice LOOKING piece Build ON ! Don
caine440 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 The clear head lights sound interesting. I see in some racing photos the head lights have a gold tint to them. I used bare metal foil with a light coat of gold paint to try and get the look right but I see in my photos the gold is not showing up.
RodneyBad Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Great looking Cuda. That is One Bad apple( ) Motor.. Very Cool.
