This is the AMT/Model King 1972 Chevy Blazer kit. Many years ago I built up a similar AMT kit, though that was a 1972 GMC Jimmy. I found this kit and decided it would be cool to do a "then and now" sort of deal.

I tried to customize it as best I could, and am certainly satisfied with the results. It is painted International Harvester red (using actual tractor paint, so it's durable!) I used the brush guard and rear bumper from my 1984 GMC Truck model, the mirrors from the Dodge Ramcharger "Gone Fishin" set, as well as the spare tire carrier, and the roll bar is from the 198* Ford Bronco 2 n 1 kit.

I was surprised at the amount of optional parts that came with the kit, including the aftermarket air cleaner, off-road shocks, tachometer, headers, and shorty exhaust pipes. I custom built a sub-box with amp, installed spark plug wires, and heater hoses as well as a CB radio with antenna, and "truck flaps" (bumper mounted mudflaps). Oh yeah, can't forget the hood scoop from the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner kit!

Good looking kit.

That looks like One heavy Duty Speaker box.

I like the heavy duty paint (all 4x4 should have that)

and the black and chrome wheels.

Interior looks good, nice dash too.

Good way to use up your parts box.

Have not been able to get my hands on one of those kits yet.
