Nick F40 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 when your own forum's General "Motorsports" section, has pretty much every topic about how they suck and how real coverage should come back on.... http://www.speedtv.com/forums/viewforum/2/
vizio93 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 WOW. Actually that's kind of funny. . it makes you wonder if the SPEED CEO's actually look at there own forum. i bet they will now.
935k3 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 At least they could bring back motorized barstool racing. I miss Speedvision and the early years of ESPN when they were showing Group C races. The fact these idiot shows get ratings says something about the state of our nation as a whole. I still say that the majority of NASCAR fans are not really car enthusiasts and there programs show that.
chris coller Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I know what you mean Dale. I grew up watching Thursday Night Thunder on ESPN. They would show sprint car and midget racing on tv. It was awesome. Nascar is nothing more than corporate politics and cookie cutter drivers. It sucks big time. Brian France is smart and stupid. Nascar doesn't need a name plate....they own the car and everything that goes with the design process. Now they look like Gt cars that race really crappy. If you wabnt to take a nap on Sunday throw a nascar race on. Sweet dreams.
elan Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 IMHO. NASCAR is really boring, that's why I sleep through them. I call it "My NASCAR nap"
James Flowers Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 NASCAR has become a boring racing series . I get so sick of hearing the same names all the time. . NASCAR needs to breakup all the multiple teams. No more multiple team owners . One car one owner only. Then we would see who is really the best drivers and mechanics. That would put it back to a more grass roots racing.
Rob Hall Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I've watched Speed TV quite a bit this year, for the F1, 24hr of Le Mans, and other road-course racing series. I avoid the NASCAR content.
Nick F40 Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Dale....oh trust me I know I know what you mean Dale. I grew up watching Thursday Night Thunder on ESPN. Wow, and coming from a guy who builds these vehicles , seriously, I know EXACTLY what you mean I've watched Speed TV quite a bit this year, for the F1, 24hr of Le Mans, and other road-course racing series. I avoid the NASCAR content. For the very few coverage of it. It's funny though, the road course is usually on early morning or late night or afternoon and they fast forward in the race, like the last Koni race, they actually forward the time a bit between commercials, they have no pre race shows or any of that. The thing is, I remember when NASCAR was good still, the manufactures still had a say in it and the racing was good, it wasn't all politics and other racing was also good and evensome NASCAR fans knew about real sports car racing and loved it, those are called REAL ENTHUSIASTS, I ma one, which 98% of the fans aren't.

Yeah, the coverage isn't that great, but better than nothing. I just tiVo it and watch on the weekends, fast forwarding thru the commercials. I actually liked and followed NASCAR growing up from around 1980 to 1990, I lost interest and stopped following when the cars no longer resembled their production namesakes..
