justin2020 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Can anyone please tell me what would be the closest color to Fords Tahoe Turquoise. I am building a 64 Mustang Convertible for a coworker in exchange for some Colts tickets. Any help would be great. Thank you Justin Tisdale
RodBurNeR Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I would try Dupli Color paints..go to Autozone or a local parts store, tell them you want to match the paint on a '64 Mustang...they have colors that are close.
VW Dave Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Testors' Model Master 'metallic turquoise' might be a close match (the photo came out a bit dark, but you get the idea) I also used it on the 'swamp cooler' on my ratty '56 Beetle:
mr moto Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I haven't checked on that color but Model Car World does custom mixed factory colors for many cars. This would be for airbrush use. You might be needing rattlecans. http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/
Scalefinishes Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 If you are going to use an airbrush, I can get that color for $12.50 a 2oz. bottle. The color is Ford paint code U PPG#12745 DuPont# 4876. If you need it in a spray can, any good paint shop should be able to mix the color no problem. I hope this helps, Jameston
justin2020 Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Thank you for all of the advice. I will stop by a paint shop and see what I can come up with. I will keep you all up to date on this. Thank you Justin Tisdale

Thank you Justin Tisdale I got a very close match to Tahoe Turquoise using the following formula and Testors enamel paints: Tahoe Turquoise Poly – (1968) 25% French Blue and 75% Pontiac Engine Blue, additionally, add a few drops of Turquoise. (This color is actually closer to a blue than a turquoise)
