old-hermit Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I've been playing around with a couple of ideas recently and came up with this ... The body was a trashed pour that I salvaged by chopping, sectioning and removing the center of the roof. Lots of bondo later and it's serviceable. I cut the frame out of a quarter inch thick plastic kitchen cutting board but will replace it with aluminum when I can afford the plate. Rear suspension from a Deuce and front from a Lindy T. Wood in roof and bed is balsa. I'm getting reference togther to scratch a Packard straight 8 but also have some resin Ardun heads for a flattie coming. Kind of a toss up right now. It's will be on hold waiting for money for aluminum plus I've got a 1/25 club challenge to build for my model club. Heres some more pics. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...illbillyhauler/

pstreet Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Amazing looking work as always. Are you going to be doing the aluminum frame in the same style as the one now?
old-hermit Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) Are you going to be doing the aluminum frame in the same style as the one now? Sure am, but a plate of aluminum big enough to cut the rails out of is expensive and I only want to do it once. Thats why I made the template out of a $7.00 plastic cutting board. heh heh heh.
