bitner Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 This is my latest creation, I used a Ford mail tractor and stretched the frame. The tanker body, rear storage bin, and equipment boxes are scratch built. I also made all the decals except the #29s and the one decal on the right rear. I used the front wheels off an AMT fire engine, and the rear wheels are from the Peerless log trailer. I used Tamiya orange for the cab, and Camouflage grey for the lower body and chassis. It came out better than I expected. Not being a real fan of this truck, I have to admit I'm starting to like it.
ford56 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Beautiful work!! Your attention to the details puts the model over the top. Great job.
Alfa Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Thats good looking Ford truck . Thanks for posting it.
84vanagon Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 The Ford C-Series are one of my favorite trucks. You did a great job on this one Alfa!
Modelsbyroni Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I LIKE IT. LOVE THOSE C-CABS. ROADWAY STILL HAS A FEW ON THE ROAD.
locoengr Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 That is an absolute great build! For me the one thing that really sets it off is the HazMat placards. Your attention to detail and building skills are fantastic. How long did it take to put together? One more thing, you need to enter this in a contest, it is very deserving.
Eshaver Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I only wish you had told of how you constructed the tank body. See I did the same thing a couple of years ago on a Ford truck model I drove at a local Heating oil jobber here in Richmond Virginia . I took 020 sheet and pretty much rolled it around some internal baffles within the tank. I then took Plastic Auito body filler and made the ends as they were kind of oval . Mabye I should get my helper to re- post the pictures of the truck I did again . Ed Shaver
chrismooney Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Super Nice build.... Great scatch building and great detail!!
Ranchwagon Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Wow! Excellent build. Decals look great and the scratchbuilding is outstanding!
mackinac359 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Nicely built. The C is perfect as a tanker. Tim
