  1. Available for preorder now, I just processed an order with Atlantis. Description says new tooled tires and some other parts not named. Shipping is forecast for the end of September.
  2. Yes, I’ve bought several kits from them over the last few years. Great service. Kits are sometimes a lot cheaper than what they are in the U.S., but you have to be careful about shipping cost as you can give back savings there. I’ve used their fast and slow shipping with no problems. I’ve gotten kits from them that have sold out in the U.S.
  3. I think the Chevy has 3-2s while the Buick has 6-2s as the alternatives?
  4. Len, Where did the article on your Cobra Daytona appear? Beautiful model! Thanks, Kerry
  5. Seems like the hoods on the last couple of re-issues we’re in bad shape with the side trim about gone. Maybe on the body too? Anybody know if they did any tooling repair on this? I assume not since I haven’t seen anything mentioned, hope I’m wrong. Haven’t found my recent issues yet to check. Regardless, some of that can be worked around and I’m really glad to see this coming back.
  6. The 3 speed overdrive is a very accurate representation of the Warner gear transmission. And as someone has already pointed out there is also a 4 speed (also an accurate Warner gear trans) on the other engine.
  7. The Revell 1964 Fairlane Thunderbolt has a nice early FE cruise-o-matic.
  8. The four speed engine/trans halves are part numbers 70 and 71, the three speed overdrive engine/trans halves part numbers are 1 and 2.
  9. I've bought resin from Norm for many years, starting at Toledo when we lived in Michigan. His quality and service is the best. I call in a couple of orders a year, usually to get his new stuff and recently got his '32 Ford cabriolet and sport coupe bodies. Outstanding as usual.
  10. Excellent! That really works!
  11. Clean build, good color choice, and excellent stance!
  12. All excellent builds and I liked the Starliner best...
  13. Excellent build, great color!
  14. Wow! Exceptional paint, great color.
  15. Excellent! Really like the skirts
  16. Good reference but I agree with Art. Also, the brochures sometimes got updated or revised. For example, for the 1958 Ford Custom/Custom 300 large deluxe catalog, there was the initial release dated 9-57, then a revision dated 10-57, and another one dated 12-57. For the '58 Fairlane/Fairlane 500 large deluxe catalog there was the initial 9-57 version, then a 12-57 revision, and a late one dated 3-58. Ford did a great job dating their brochures/catalogs and also gave them form numbers while other makers weren't so diligent. Sometimes the revisions were major such as a model getting dropped or added and sometimes it was a very minor specification change in the fine print listing engine or tire specs. And sometimes they didn't make changes, especially in later years. Collecting new car literature is a sickness right up there with model cars........."You have HOW MANY unbuilt kits??!!?" And just as fun. Plus the justification is there: "I need the reference..." Kerry
  17. Picked mine up today in Wichita. The guy said their hobby shop is on Revell's early release program so they get a couple, then won't get any more for two weeks when all the other retailers are supposed to get them.
  18. That's looking good, great start! I'll be following this one. Thanks for posting the photo etch information, too. I just tried the email address to get ordering information and I got an email failure. I copied the address from your posting and pasted it into my email and I went back and checked to make sure it was the same. Are you sure the address as posted is correct? Thanks! Kerry
  19. We visited our son in Wisconsin in early December and he challenged me to build a model for a contest in Waukesha that he was entering and that coincided with our visit. This is a combination of the stock '40 kit which I had started much earlier and the flathead hopup parts and wheels and tires from the hot rod '40 kit. Since it's a hot rod, the door handles, etc. are shaved (fewer parts to install!) Paint isn't the best and the stance is too high all around but I got it done and best of all I had a great time going to the contest and swap meet with my son!
  20. Another super job, good color choice. Excellent under-hood and chassis detail.
