  1. Very nice, I really like windshield visor and other custom work to the cab and rear roll pan. The raised bed floor is a different idea, too, and looks good!
  2. Excellent!! Great color.
  3. This is great! Any pics of the grill? This would be perfect for a Ken Kitchen 240-300 Ford six.
  4. Super builds, especially the '60 Starliner!
  5. I'm building a Revell 40 Ford coupe for the first time and I'm wondering what the best process is to install the bumpers: 1. Install the bumper brackets to the bumpers and eyeball frame mount alignment, then install to the car? 2. Install the bumper brackets to the frame and eyeball bumper mount alignment, then install to the car? 3. Or is there a better way??? Thanks Kerry
  6. Wow! Excellent build. Decals look great and the scratchbuilding is outstanding!
  7. Great weathering job! How about a restored version?
  8. Added engine and chassis pics look good!
  9. I just found out about the wide-5 Ford wheels, the new Lyle Willits '32 Ford body, and the Offenhauser engine from Replicas & Minatures of Md. Is there anything else since, say the first of the year? TIA!
  10. Excellent build! I can appreciate the effort it took to make an R&R look that good.
  11. Len, Thanks for posting the photos of the Heartland Nationals. Eleanor's win was well deserved!
  12. Tim, Any photos? What manual trans, early Ford three speed or late 5 speed or ?? Sounds like a great kit, thanks for the reveiw. Kerry
  13. Lyle, Great build! And it sounds like a very fitting tribute for your friend. BTW, you're the first guy I've seen get the generator decal on right in spite of Revell's instructions.
  14. Tim, Do they still have the Nankin store on Ford Rd, I think in Dearborn Hgts, or did they move it? They were heavy in trains and R/C when I retired from Ford 5 yrs ago but had a good selection of car kits and modeling supplies. It was a good lunch time stop along with Old Guard but you had to hustle to get out there and back in time! Is Joe's Hobby still open in Farmington Hills? I'm now in central Kansas and 90 miles from the nearest hobby shop in Wichita so it's either go there or mail order. Kerry
  15. Excellent save! Perfect color for that car, too.
  16. Wow, that looks great. Did you scratchbuild the smaller winch or is it available from someone? Question on the gin poles, on the prototype they look like they are just short of reaching the headache rack, but there looks like there is something about a third of the way from the back of the bed that catches or stops the poles when they are flipped over?? I worked for an oil pipeline company summers during college and I was a "swamper" for the winch truck driver at our station. We had a Ford F600 and almost always ran with the poles in the normal (rearward) position. They had a pipe hauling trailer that had a kind of quasi-fifth wheel that hooked to the winch truck bed, and we flipped the poles forward onto the headache rack when we used it, but that was only a couple of times so I don't remember much about how the trailer hooked to the bed. By the way, Joe the winch truck driver was extremely particular about his truck, tools, and especially the winch line. We always wound it back up straight and tight on the drum. I kept tension on the line and guided it onto the reel while Joe "walked" me up the back of the truck. No cable rat's nests for him! Kerry
  17. OOPS! Got mine from Hobby Search in Japan, not Hobby Link Japan. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/ Kerry
  18. Bill, You might try Hobby Link Japan. I ordered mine along with the photo-etched wheels on March 5 and received them March 12!! Kerry
  19. Jan, thanks for the update. Bob and you are in my prayers!
  20. I retired from Ford Motor Co. four years ago after 30.5 years. I worked in Powertrain Engineering doing emission certification to meet EPA and CARB (Calif) requirements most of that time. I started in Transmission Engineering. Emission certification was actually very interesting and I was also very involved in some fun projects such as the F150 Lightening trucks, all of the Cobra R's, and other SVT vehicles. Today I work part time assisting the DARE officer of our local police dept. run several programs for kids and the community. I also raise several breeds of show pigeons and manage the racing pigeon loft at our local zoo as a volunteer. I've got a '53 Ford Ranchwagon and a '61 Econoline pickup that need lots of work and will someday be cool hot rods. I collect new car/truck brochures and literature and have over 3000 pieces in the collection so far. We also have an '03 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that is a blast to take to Colorado and explore the back trails. We also love to visit the kids and granddaughters in Minn. and Wis. Both sons were introduced to model building at an early age. One developed an interest in cars and model building so it's really cool to enjoy the hobby with him.
